Coffee Prices Hit New High

Coffee prices are at their highest for 34 years and show no sign of slowing. The world’s largest producers Brazil, Colombia and Central America are all expected to produce less coffee this summer.

Coffee is the second most widely traded commodity in the world in terms of physical volumes, crude oil being the first. Like oil, coffee production is governed by only a handful of countries. Brazil being the world’s largest coffee producer is anticipating a small harvest.
